Bahrain ranks 46th among 183 countries in Transparency International\'\'s 2011 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), gaining two positions compared to last year, Gulf Daily News reported Friday. The index, which focuses on corruption in the public sector, is conducted by Transparency International, the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. New Zealand, Denmark and Finland were declared the most transparent in the world. The CPI Index has been accepted as the most recognised international index on corruption. The 2011 CPI indicates that the kingdom is committed to international standards on enhancing performance at public sector institutions, whether at the level of accountability or management of government resources, which testifies to the success of the government policy in this regard.
