Minister of Municipalities and Urban Planning Dr. Jum’a Al-Kaabi and Minister of Works Engineer Essam Khalaf made an inspection visit to Prince Khalifa bin Salman’s Park at Al-Hidd. The minister of Municipalities and Urban Planning said that 94% of Prince Khalifa bin Salman’s Park has been completed and it’s inauguration is anticipated to take place by the end of November 2011 or to coincide with the National Day celebrations, adding that the project is constructed on 7.5 hectares plot of land comprising greenery spaces, marine façade, family lounges and facilities. Both ministers inspected the construction blueprints then made an inspection tour of the project’s facilities. The project comprises development of land in the vicinity of Shaikh Khalifa’s causeway at Al-Hidd, recreation garden, man-made oasis, 45-meters long tower for coffee shop and restaurant, as well as playgrounds, cafeterias, walkways, water surfaces, harbor, prayer rooms and security office. The streets in the neighborhood will be lit and public telephone booths, TV-screens, emergency alert systems and landscaping will be included. Dr. Al-Kaabi emphasized that the project is under the kind auspices of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister as an addition to the Kingdom of Bahrain’s sustainable cities, environmental stability, recreational places sightseeing in the Kingdom. The Minister of Municipalities praised the authorities who implemented this project namely the Ministry of Works, Electricity and Water Authority, chairman and members of Muharraq Municipal Council and Mr. Ghanim Fadhul Al-Buainain, MP. Minister of Works Engineer Essam Khalaf said that the Ministry of Works operates within mutual governmental cooperation with the various official sectors in contributing into the implementation of governmental projects that serve the citizens, adding that the Ministry of Works studied Prince Khalifa bin Salman’s Park in order to determine the roads to be developed and constructed in order to facilitate traffic flow to and from the Park, emphasizing that the Ministry of Works in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipalities and Urban Planning together with chairman and members of Muharraq Municipality have implemented numerous projects which shall reap benefit to the motherland and the citizens. The Minister of Municipalities and Urban Planning was accompanied during his visit by the Ministry’s undersecretary Dr. Nabil Mohammed Abul-Fath, Muharraq Municipality’s chairman Engineer Abdul-Naser Al-Mahmeed, assistant undersecretary for Allied Municipal Services Mohammed Nour Al-Shaikh, Muharraq Municipality’s member Ramzi Al-Galaleaf as well as a number of officials.
