The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Dr Mishaal bin Fahm Al-Salami, has affirmed the Arab Parliament's support to Sudan government and people, indicating that Sudan has given the best example in confronting major common challenges.

Dr Al-Salami appreciated, in his address to the opening sitting of the Arab Parliament in its second session at the Friendship Hall in Khartoum, Tuesday, attendance of the President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir to the opening sitting.
He also appeciated the role of the National Assembly and the government of Sudan for hosting the Arab Parliament's meetings.

He also expressed the Arab Parliament's welcome to Sudan efforts in the areas of development, reform, combating of terrorism and maintaining Arab security, stressing that the Arab Parliament will remain calling for the removing Sudan name from the US list of states sponsoring terrorism.

He said that Sudan is a key state in the combat of terrorism and terrorist groups and organizations, referring to Sudan role in the Saudi Arabia-led coalition to restore legitimacy in Yemen, and for the achievement of peace and security in Africa, especially in South Sudan State.

Dr. Mashaal has pointed to the challenges facing the Arab World, such as the Israeli occupation of Arab lands, internal conflicts and divisions, terrorism, and foreign interventions in the internal affairs of some Arab countries, in addition to the economic and development challenges.

The Arab Parliament Speaker has called for the unification of Arab rank to confront such challenges, reaffirming that the solution would be through Arab solidarity, coordination of policies, stances and efforts for serving issues and interests of the Arab nation.

He said that the Arab Parliament will continue its work is backing up the Arab parliamentary diplomacy at the regional and international levels and boosting the joint Arab work for the interest of the Arab peoples.
