The festivities celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of Algeria independence, which kick off Wednesday at midnight in Sidi Fredj, where the French colonial army had landed in 1830, will be marked by an exceptional performance with magnificent fireworks to illuminate the sky simultaneously in 48 provinces of the country. The opening ceremony, which will be celebrated in Algiers by a grand fireworks display at the theater of Sidi Fredj, promised to be a unique spectacle in the history of celebrations in Algeria. The festivities will be so enhanced by the representation of an operetta in which over 500 Algerian young artists at open air theater. The capital, dressed in her finery for the occasion, will also house many concerts and artistic performances on the occasion of this great event. The Algiers inhabitants will also follow the festivities over forty large screens at the largest public squares and showing films on the Algerian Revolution and the glorious achievements of independent Algeria. The streets of Algiers were decorated by more than 50,000 national emblems of various sizes.
