Indian Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj arrived in Islamabad Tuesday evening on the first visit by such a high-level official to Pakistan in three years.
The minister is to attend a security conference on Afghanistan under the title of "Heart of Asia" and to hold talks with Pakistani officials, Geo channel reported.
Her visit comes days after India and Pakistan held peace talks in Bangkok.
The Heart of Asia gathering brings together Asian and other countries to discuss the future of Afghanistan and its neighbors.
