A huge explosion rocked Kandahar city in Afghanistan.

Initial reports indicate that the explosion took place near a police check point in Mirwais Mina area of Kandahar city leaving at least two people killed and over a dozen others wounded, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).

Police headquarters in Kandahar city have only confirmed the explosion but has not provided further details.
