Islamabad - KUNA
At least five civilians were killed and nine others wounded on Friday when a bomb-rigged motorbike ripped through a weekly bazaar in southern Helmand province of Afghanistan, said officials. The spokesman for Helmands governor, Omar Zwakn said that the explosion in Nad Ali district took place as a large number of people were busy shopping at the weekly Friday bazaar in the Camp area near the district headquarters. He further confirmed that five people were killed and nine others wounded in the attack. The security forces cordoned off the area and wounded people were shifted to the nearby emergency hospital. The officials of the Lashkargah hospital said that they had been delivered eleven wounded people from the scene including six children aged between 12 to 14 years. The officials feared a rise in death toll as many injured were reported critical in condition.
