Turkish Deputy Prime Minister  Numan Kurtulmus held talks regarding bilateral cooperation with Moroccan Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Lahcen Daoudi in an official visit toMorocco on Tuesday.
After the meeting, Kurtulmus said that the discussions, which focused on bilateral cooperation in the field of higher education and scientific research, were successful.
They also talked about regional issues including Syrian refugee in Turkey. Kurtulmus said that a long-term solution to this problem must be found. There are approximately two million Syrian refugees in Turkey.
Daoudi said that  Morocco andTurkey are determined to further develop their bilateral relations and to give new impetus to the process of cooperation, especially in the field of scientific and academic research.  
Daoudi, in a statement to the press after his meeting with Kurtulmus, said that this meeting is a new stage in bilateral cooperation between the two countries. He praised efforts made by both parties to achieve the intended objectives of the cooperation.
Kurtulmus also met with Moroccan Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane.
The Moroccan authorities also held talks with Serdar Cam, chairman of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency, or TIKA, Kudret Bulbul, chairman of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Relative Communities, and Hayati Develi, chairman of the Yunus Emre Institute.
Kurtulmus also visited the mausoleum of Mohammed V.
