Turkish authorities have blocked Khabur border crossing adjacent to the Iraqi borders and located in Şırnak town, southeastern Turkey.

This comes after the Iraqi security forces have launched a wide-scale military operation in Silopi and Gezra townships, situated close to the Turkish-Iraqi frontiers, to hunt down terror elements spreading in these areas.

Turkish airlines has canceled all flights to Şırnak town against the backdrop of clashes erupted there, adding it will re-evaluate the current security developments in the area before resuming flights.
