A former Philadelphia police officer was sentenced Tuesday to 13 years in federal prison for his role in a plan to steal and resell heroin. Robert Snyder\'s wife, Christal, is scheduled to be sentenced Monday, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported. Her plea agreement calls for a 10-year sentence. Robert cried during the hearing. He and his wife have three children between the ages of 3 and 11, and he sobbed while saying they will have to manage without both parents for 10 years. Christal Snyder was in the courtroom, her head lowered. Srobert 30, joined the police department in 2007 after working as a building custodian. James Venziale, who had been a police officer for 10 years, was sentenced to 42 months Monday. A third officer, Mark Williams, is awaiting sentencing. Angel Ortiz, a drug dealer, is also to be sentenced this week. His girlfriend was Christal Snyder\'s sister.
