Uruguay's vice president Raul Sendic resigned on Saturday over allegations he used public money for personal shopping.
"I presented my irrevocable resignation from the vice presidency to the plenary of the Broad Front," the leftist ruling party, Sendic, 55, said on Twitter.
Sendic faces allegations that he used company credit cards for personal purchases when he was head of the state oil company ANCAP.
A recent report by party authorities said there was evidence he had used the credit cards in sports, electronics and jewelry stores.
Sendic has denied wrongdoing.
