H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on Tuesday, visited the Agriculture Faculty at Cairo University.
Sheikh Sultan expressed his great happiness at visiting the university from where he graduated and learned the agricultural engineering sciences.
Sheikh Sultan got all his knowledge of sciences and literature during his studies in the Agriculture Faculty. This study contributed to the formation of his character and made him a lover of science, arts and literature.
Sheikh Sultan addressed a ceremony to celebrate the QS World University ranking of Cairo University's Agriculture Faculty among the top 250 agricultural faculties in the world. There are 23,000 agriculture faculties in the world.
The Ruler of Sharjah noted that his ties with the Egyptians is one of love because of the education and hospitality he received during the period of his university studies.
Sheikh Sultan, said, "Whatever I presented today to the Agriculture Faculty at the Cairo University, and to Egypt, is not enough."
The Sharjah Ruler called on the Egyptian leadership to overcome all the critical situations in its history.
During his visit to Cairo University, a documentary film titled "Egypt's Lover" was screened. It was the biography of the Sharjah Ruler and his achievements in all fields of science, education, culture and society, in addition to his contributions and support to Cairo University and its various faculties.
Dr. Hany Al-Shemy, Dean of the Agriculture Faculty, University of Cairo, delivered a speech in which he welcomed the Sharjah Ruler and expressed sincere thanks to him for accepting the honorary presidency of the Association of Graduates of the Agriculture Faculty.
Dr. Saeed Al-Daou, Vice-President of Cairo University, delivered a speech in which he reviewed the joint projects between the Ruler of Sharjah and the Cairo University. Dr. Al-Daou stressed that Sheikh Sultan is one of the most prominent supporters of the educational programmes and research projects in various faculties of the Cairo University.
At the end of the ceremony, the Ruler of Sharjah received a number of commemorative shields.
The ceremony was attended by Juma Mubarak Al Junaibi, UAE Ambassador to Egypt; Major General Kamal Al-Dali, Governor of Giza; Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Culture and Information; Mohammed Obaid Al Zaabi, Director of the Sharjah Department of Protocol and Guesthouses; Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director-General of the Sharjah Media Corporation, and Dr. Amr Abdel Hamid, Director of the Sharjah Research Academy.
