Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday arrived in Beirut on a three-day official visit, during which he will discuss with his Lebanese counterpart and top officials the latest regional developments. Abbas\' visit comes amid a very critical situation in the region as well as in Lebanon caused by the Syrian crisis. During the visit, Abbas will discuss the crisis of the Palestinian refugees who fled Syria to Lebanon, and the rising Sunni-Shiite tension and its repercussions on the Palestinian camps in Lebanon. The visit coincides with an escalating political situation in Egypt and comes few days after U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry\' s visit to the region to revive the Middle East peace process.
