Head of Egypt's constitutional drafting committee Amr Moussa received on Monday visiting Indian Deputy Foreign Minister for Middle East and North Africa Affairs Ashok Kantha. The meeting took up means of developing the Egyptian-Indian relations and future visions regarding them. The Indian diplomat told Moussa that his country was keen on backing Egypt in its march towards democracy in accordance with the roadmap plan declared after the June 30 revolution. Moussa, on his part, asserted that Egypt will be able to restore its regional position and reiterated the importance of Cairo-New Delhi relations in particular. Trade relations with India ranks seventh in Egypt's foreign trade and the value of Indian investments in Egypt hit dlrs 2.5 billion. The meeting also took up Egypt's draft constitution and how to reach a consensus among various parties on its drafting, a mission Moussa described as a challenge that surpassed all difficulties he had ever met during his work as a diplomat or as chief of the Arab League. Moussa also received an invitation to visit India and meet with some decision-makers.
