Chairman of Egypt’s Rowing Federation, Major General Khaled Zein, has been elected as the new head of the country’s Olympic Committee (EOC) after winning the majority of the vote in the committee’s assembly. The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) also won a seat in the EOC in the Thursday poll, with board member Hamada el-Masry elected to the membership of the committee. Hockey Federation chief Mohammed Shaheen accused Zein of “treachery,” vowing to officially contest the election results.
