US first lady Michelle Obama hints her 50th birthday celebration next month will include the chance to dance. The Chicago Tribune says its sources tell it the White House has sent out save-the-date emails for a Jan. 18 event, the day after Mrs. Obama's birthday, it's calling "Snacks & Sips & Dancing & Dessert." Guests are being advised to wear comfortable shoes, practice their dance moves and eat ahead of time. The guest list and who will perform are still secret, the newspaper reported Thursday. Obama herself mentioned during a Dec. 16 visit to a children's hospital that her celebration "might involve some dancing. A little Dougie." Dougie is a hip-hop dance she once did during an appearance on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon." One friend who has been invited, Democratic strategist Donna Brazile, said the event could wind up like the late-night party Obama insiders held in the East Room after President Barack Obama's 2013 inauguration. Then, Brazile said, the first lady "just lit up like a spark was inside her" when Janelle Monae was about to perform. "We cleared the tables and we all just started dancing. We danced the night away," Brazile told the Tribune. "That's Michelle. She's spontaneous, she's energetic, she gets the moment and appreciates every second she is surrounded with friends and family. "That girl can dance. That woman can still shake a tail feather."
