Egypt's Dr Ragheb el-Serjani won the Naif Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud International Prize for Sunna and Contemporary Islamic Studies. Crown Prince Salman ben Abdel-Aziz, the deputy premier and defense minister, will honor the winners of the award on Tuesday. Out of total 122 researches filed in pursuance of the award, 22 researches copped the prize. The prize is meant to encourage scientific research in the fields of Sunna and Contemporary Islamic Studies among researchers around the world; reinforce the spirit of scientific competition; develop the study of current affairs of the Islamic world, and find solutions to its problems; promote original scientific research in the Islamic world; highlight the values of the religion of Islam and its perpetual validity; and contribute to the progress of human civilization.
