Baghdad - MENA
United Nations-Arab League envoy for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi arrived in Baghdad on Monday for talks on the Syrian crisis with Iraqi officials. Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari received Brahimi at Baghdad International Airport, according to a statement by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry. Media Adviser for the Iraqi premier Ali Mawsawi said earlier in the day on his Facebook page that Brahimi is scheduled to meet with the Iraqi Premier for talks on the Syrian crisis and ongoing preparations for the Geneva 2 conference on Syria – which is expected to be held on November 23. Iraq has called for ceasing fire in Syria and settling the problem peacefully.
