European Union foreign affairs policy chief Catherine Ashton and her family left Luxor on Sunday after touring the archaeological sites in the east and west banks of the Upper Egyptian city. Luxor Governor Tarek Saad said Ashton was glad to visit the governorate and expressed optimism about Egypt's future. "The visit sends an important message that Egypt is safe," he has said.
