To commemorate the 85th anniversary of the legendary wager that saw a Bentley Speed Six driven by Woolf Barnato get from Cannes to London before the Calais-Mediterranée Express made it from Cannes to Calais, the company is building a very special version of its flagship Mulsanne Speed.
Hand-built by Bentley's Mulliner division artisans, only four examples of the ‘Blue Train' -- the signature design cues for which will be inspired by the original car -- will be offered to clients.
What's more, the very first model will also feature a personalized hand-made hamper stocked with Robbe & Berking silver-plated cutlery, Haviland Limoges porcelain crockery, LINLEY crystal champagne flutes and an Angora picnic rug.
"The fact that we are producing just four of these Limited Editions is highly significant, as Barnato famously made it to the club in London four minutes before the train arrived in Calais," said Robert Engstler, Bentley Regional Director Europe.
