Zellweger’s four bedroom Connecticut home

When Academy-award winning actress Renée Zellweger bought her farmhouse estate in Pomfret in 2004, she was attracted by the slower-paced country living, locals that left her alone and a place
where she didn\'t have to dodge the paparazzi. Now, seven years and a massive renovation later, Zellweger has put her 39-acre vacation retreat on the market for $1.5 million, including the main residence known as Cotton Tavern, built in 1770. Unfortunately her schedule and travel commitments don\'t allow her to visit property as frequently as in past years,\" said Jonathan P. Radford, a real estate agent at “Coldwell Banker Previews International” who has the listing. \"She can\'t get there as much she would like.\" Zellweger, who won the Best Supporting Actress award for 2003\'s \"Cold Mountain,\" paid $1.3 million for the property and has since renovated the 3,400-square main house, guest cottage and recreation barn. The property also includes an irregularly-shaped pool edged in stone and a helicopter landing pad. The main house is a Federal-style Colonial with three bedrooms, including a master suite with dressing area that offers an extensive suite of closets. A library is finished in dark wood paneling and crown molding with built in bookcases, and a family room with the house\'s original fireplace and bread oven has been used by Zellweger as a media room. The kitchen features custom white-painted, wood cabinetry, state-of-the-art appliances and wall cabinets to display china. The guest cottage has a bedroom, kitchenette and full bathroom.
