Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Sharjah Investment and Development Authority, Shurooq, attended, on Sunday evening, the opening night of two revolutionary art exhibitions at Maraya Art Centre, Sharjah's innovative contemporary visual arts hub, in collaboration with Barjeel Art Foundation, in participation of a group of creative young artists from the region and beyond.
The opening night of the bespoke exhibitions, respectively titled ‘Accented' and the 2nd edition of ‘Aide-Memoire' was attended by Abdullah Al Owais, Chairman of Sharjah Department of Culture and Information, Hisham Al Madhloum, Director of Art Directorate at the Department of Culture and Information in Sharjah, Manal Ataya, Director General of Sharjah Museums, Marwan bin Jassim Al Sarkal, CEO of Sharjah Investment and Development Authority, Department and Badr Jafar CEO of Crescent Enterprises.
Both exhibitions were well received by specials guests, art critics and members of the public alike.
Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi toured the two exhibitions and met a number of the participating artists. She expressed her appreciation of the high level of artworks which address the impacts of technological evolution on the modern life from cultural perspective. She added that the diversity of accents and languages around the world reflect the richness of human civilisation and that this diversity must be used as a stimulus to communicate with and explore others, and to cooperate with them to promote international peace and stability.
