Mosul - Arab Today
Iraqi forces managed to kill dozens of extremists during their battle against ISIS in Mousl, as “We Are Coming Nineveh” military leadership killed a large number of militias and destroyed two car bombs, while a senior officer in the Iraqi army was killed.
Leader of “We Are Coming Nineveh” Abdel Al Amir Rashid said that the Iraqi military managed to liberate a large swath of Mousl on Sunday and raised the Iraqi flag over the buildings. He added that they controlled Duhok towards Mousl in cooperation with the International coalition.
He added that the Iraqi security forces resume their role to inspect the buildings and the roads of Mousl’s left bank liberated from the extremists during the recent days. He underlined that the International coalition conducted six airstrikes killing a large number of militants and destroyed their weapons.
Meanwhile, U.S Ambassador to Iraq Doglas Soliman stressed his country’s commitment, under Donald Trump, to the strategic framework between the two countries, saying that his country will work to activate not only the security side but also the different sides of the agreement.
The Iraqi government, under former Prime Minister Nuri Al Maleki, signed an agreement with the U.S in 2008 to organize the relations between the two countries after the American withdrawal from Iraq. It included the ways of cooperation in different fields, including the military, economic and cultural sides.
