Popular Mobilization Forces led the fight against ISIS in cooperation with Peshmerga to liberate the areas located in north of the road linking between Tal Afar and Singar on Wednesday.
Military leader Hady Al Amry said that the troops managed to intercept the road before the extremist militias to prevent them from infiltrating from Mousl to Tal Afar district or to the Syrian territories, saying that the points that they controlled during the battle will turn into the tombs of the members of the extremist group.
He added that supplies from Syria have been intercepted, praising cooperation between Peshmerga and his forces. He said that the forces managed to kill leading member of the extremist group Harbi Abdel Kareem, stressing that the group is currently besieged in the area between the Tigris River and Cino Mountains.
He added that Harby Abdel Kareem is the major responsible for Yezedi female captives and the displacement of a large number of Tel Afar’s residents in addition to bombing a number of shrines.
On the other hand, Iraq’s Ministry of Defense said, in a statement, that the Iraqi Armed forces took a decision to deploy the troops in preparation for the coming battle to liberate Mousl’s right bank. It added that they intensified the military and security presence in Baghdad to protect it from any potential attacks from the extremists during the coming period.
