A Yemeni protester is rushed to hospital following clashes with government troops
SANAA (AFP) - Snipers and security forces killed six civilians in Sanaa on Monday, a day after deadly clashes in the Yemeni capital left 26 people dead, witnesses said.
Snipers deployed on rooftops around Change Square, the epicentre of anti-regime protests in Sanaa, killed three passers-by on a street west of the square, witnesses said.
Meanwhile, security forces and regime supporters clashed with protesters a few kilometres (miles) away killing three and wounding dozens, witnesses said, adding that explosions were heard from the site of the clashes.
Similar clashes late on Sunday left 26 protesters killed and 500 others wounded, according to medics.
