The Israeli Army and internal security units are searching for the body of a soldier missing since 1948
The Israeli army and the internal security unit “Shabak” are carrying out an intensive search for the body of an Israeli soldier that went missing in 1948, and they are still unsure as to whether or not it is in the hands
of a Palestinian organization. Hamas sources in Gaza revealed today that through the questioning of Palestinian collaborators in Gaza they have discovered that Israeli intelligence has asked these agents to search for a soldier who was killed in clashes in the Gaza Strip in 1948. “Shabak” have asked the collaborator, who is known by the intitials S.O., whether the body is buried in one of the graveyards in Gaza. However, Palestinian factions have refused to give any information on its whereabouts. According to the Palestinian collaborator S.O., he was contacted by an Israeli officer asking him to search for the body next to one of the previous Israeli settlements in the centre of the Gaza Strip where the fighting originally took place. Hamas sources state that the Palestinian collaborator has received two mobile phones from the Israeli Intelligence – one for his own use, and one to be left at a collection point for another Palestinian collaborator. These mobile phones have ended up in the hands of the Palestinian security forces in Gaza. Furthermore, Hamas sources have revealed that the Palestinian collaborator S.O. who was recently arrested has made very important confessions, exposing that he was responsible for paying the salaries of other agents working for Israel in the Gaza strip.
