Collaborator\'s execution Security sources revealed today that the two Palestinian collaborators executed in Gaza City on Tuesday morning worked for Israeli intelligence agency Shabak between 1978 and 2003. While working for this agency they passed information to the enemy, and their cooperation with Israeli intelligence aided many anti-Palestinian activities.
According to the Hamas movement’s security sources, the two collaborators were spying and following the movements of a large number of activists and senior officials, and informing the Israeli’s about them.
Sources added that the two agents made very clear confessions about their roles in the assassination of top Hamas leader, Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Rantissi. They helped the Israeli intelligence forces to assassinate him on the 10th June 2003, when they advised Shabak of his whereabouts, allowing Israeli military jets to fire seven missiles that targeted Al-Rantissi’s car and convoy. This attack also led to the deaths of Palestinian citizens who happened to be nearby when the incident occurred.
On the 15th June 2003 the Palestinian collaborators passed important information to Shabak, after constantly following the movements of another Hamas activist, Rafaat Ahmad Hamad al-Zaanin. He was assassinated when special Israeli forces besieged him at his home in Beit Hanoun, and he was killed under fire. The Hamas Ministry of the Interior in Gaza made an announcement yesterday about the execution of the two Palestinian collaborators, stating that the Ministry had carried out the execution after the government’s approval of the decision, and that they had concrete evidence of the collaborators cooperation with Israeli intelligence.
