Benghazi protesters demonstrate against NTC Hundreds of Libyan men, women, and children rallied in Benghazi's Shajara Square (Tree Square) chanted slogans against the National Transitional Council and the new government .
"The NTC (National Transitional Council) must quit. Jalil must go out! The people want another revolution!" chanted the crowds as they waved Libya's new flag.
The protesters said that, their city was the cradle of the uprising that toppled Mummer Gaddafi and brought the NTC to power, and it has been ignored by the new government.
They also said the Libyan revolution had started in nearly nine months, and cited unfulfilled promises as one of the reasons behind their discontent. "The banks don’t have money, we haven't got our salaries since Al-Adha Eid, and we are plagued by high prices and a lack of basic commodities," said the protesters.
Demonstrators explained that those who sacrificed their lives for a new Libyan future had still not achieved their aim, saying that they would never “let the blood of the martyrs go in vain”.
At the same time, hundreds demonstrated in front of NTC headquarters in Alhadyak district, in solidarity with Benghazi’s protesters and for the same demands.
Protests were largely peaceful, and without any burning, destruction, or using any kind of weapons, assuring that they would not leave until their demands are met by the NTC
