Baghdad rocked by fresh violence Baghdad – Jaafar Nassrawi The Iraqi capital has witnessed three consecutive explosions by car bombs early today.Eyewitnesses stated that the first explosion happened at about 7 am local time in Mansour district, shortly followed by two explosions in Karrada and Bayaa, respectively.
A source from the Iraqi Health Ministry stated that the blasts have so far resulted in 40 deaths and more than 130 injured, with possibility that the numbers would increase.
The source, who requested anonymity, told ‘Arabstoday’ that the hospitals in Baghdad received more than 130 wounded, of which some have serious injuries, making the death toll likely higher. He added that the judicial departments of medical care in Baghdad hospitals has so far registered receiving 40 dead bodies from the explosions.
