US Transportation Department fines Qatar Airways $185,000

Qatar Airways The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) fined Qatar Airways $185,000

The U.S. Transportation Department (DOT) is fining Qatar Airways $185,000 for flying in prohibited foreign airspace with the American Airlines code. 

The DOT did not specify where the Qatar flights were when they violated Federal Aviation Administration restrictions on flying in prohibited airspace, according to Sky News channel. 

The flights occurred in late 2014 and early 2015.
