A pedestrian bridge along Jeddah's busy Madinah Road collapsed on Saturday after it was hit by a truck, causing traffic jams.
Images shared on social media showed the truck entangled in the partially collapsed bridge.
Traffic enforcers closed the stretch of the thoroughfare between Palestine and Tahlia where the bridge is located.
The covered wooden bridge connects from a road beside Movenpick Hotel and the front of Mosadia shopping center.
Witnesses said on social media that the accident happened at past noon.
