Minneapolis post-punk rockers The Replacements announced their first U.S. tour since 1991 on Monday, with the band visiting a 12 cities for 13 shows in 30 days starting in April.
The "Back by Unpopular Demand" tour will start in Seattle, swing down the west coast to Los Angeles before cutting through Denver to Chicago and the upper Midwest. From there band will travel through the Rustbelt to D.C., eventually ending their tour at Philadelphia's Festival Pier.
Their April 16 concert at the Hollywood Palladium is strategically scheduled between Coachella weekends not so the band can retake the stage where they reunited in 2013, but because, "The 'Mats are eschewing festival stages for the more intimate vibes of clubs and theaters throughout the United States."
Notably absent is the bands' hometown of Minneapolis. The last time the group toured together was in 1991, playing their final show at Grant Park in Chicago on July 4.
