Olivia Wilde says son Otis is smart and musical.
The 30-year-old actress opened up on the infant in an interview with Today on Thursday. Wilde and fiancé Jason Sudeikis welcomed Otis in April 2014, and the star said the 10-month-old is growing and learning quickly.
"He's about to walk," she shared. "He's teetering and I just don't want him to do it while I'm at work. He's so smart and just plays his piano all day long. He's really musical so we're trying to encourage that."
Wilde appeared on The Daily Show later in the evening, and told host Jon Stewart motherhood is "so much fun" and "amazing." The actress lauded her son as "wonderful," but admitted parenthood is "a balancing act."
Wilde also discussed her new film, The Lazarus Effect, on both programs. Mark Duplass stars as a medical researcher who resurrects his fiancée (Wilde) from the dead, and the actress told Today host Savannah Guthrie she always wanted to take on a horror role.
"It really was fun to be able to just let all the rage out," she related. "I've always really liked scary movies, but I've always wanted to play the scary part. I don't want to be the girl running away from danger, you know? In The Shining, you want to be Jack Nicholson."
The Lazarus Effect co-stars Evan Peters and Donald Glover, and opens in theaters Friday. Wilde is also scheduled for Meadowland with Luke Wilson and Elisabeth Moss, Let It Snow with Amanda Seyfried and Marisa Tomei, and Free Fire with Luke Evans and Armie Hammer.
