Mia Wasikowska stars in a first trailer for Crimson Peak.
The 25-year-old actress portrays Edith Cushing, a young author married to the charming Sir Thomas Sharpe (Tom Hiddleston). The character discovers her husband is hiding a mysterious past after she moves into his sinister English mansion.
Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth) wrote, directed and produced the film, which co-stars Charlie Hunnam as Alan McMichael, a doctor in love with Edith, and Jessica Chastain as Lady Lucille Sharp, Thomas' sister. The movie opens in theaters October 16.
Wasikowska previously collaborated with Hiddleston on Jim Jarmusch vampire drama Only Lovers Left Alive, and recently starred with Nicole Kidman in Chan-wook Park (Oldboy) film Stoker. The actress is scheduled to appear with Johnny Depp in Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass.
Hiddleston is known for portraying Loki in the Marvel cinematic universe, and will return for Avengers: Age of Ultron on May 1. He is also slated for new AMC series The Night Manager, and King Kong prequel movie Kong: Skull Island.
