Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice may feature a female Robin.
Reporter Kirk Montgomery of WILX-10 News spoke to an extra this week at Michigan State University and learned "the character of Robin is now female." The loose-lipped extra is said to face a $5 million fine for violating his/her non-disclosure agreement with Warner Bros.
Actress Jena Malone, 29, is now rumored for the role of Carrie Kelley, aka Robin. In the DC comics, Kelley is a 13-year-old schoolgirl who assumes the identity of Robin after Batman saves her life. She becomes the first full-time female Robin, and proves to be an able sidekick to the superhero.
Malone is best known for her role as District 7 tribute Johanna Mason in The Hunger Games films. The character first appeared in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and will return in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2.
The actress has also starred in Sucker Punch, Into the Wild and Pride & Prejudice, and is scheduled for Angelica, Bottom of the World and Claire in 2015.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will feature Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luther. The film opens in theaters March 25, 2016.
