Hilary Duff is revamping her music career.
The 26-year-old former Disney star announced the release of a new single, "Chasing The Sun," and her upcoming fifth studio album on Wednesday after signing with RCA Records.
"I couldn't be more excited to join the RCA family!" Duff told E! News in a statement. "I love my team there and feel so lucky to be in the company of their talented artists. I came to them with my vision for the album and it has been a real labor of love, but something I am so proud of."
Duff went on to say that "Chasing The Sun" "is just a peek" into her new album, which she promised would be a "great representation of the experiences I've had in my life and where I want to go from here!" Duff shared a sample of the upbeat track on Instagram Wednesday.
The single will be available for digital download on July 29, the same day the video for the song is scheduled to premiere on VEVO.
The "So Yesterday" singer hasn't released a full album since 2007's Dignity. Since then, Duff has been focusing on her acting career and landed roles in TV's Gossip Girl, Two and Half Men, Law & Order: SVU and others. She also starred in a few independent and direct-to-video films.
In addition to her upcoming record, Duff is set to co-star alongside Sutton Foster, Debi Mazar, and Miriam Shor in the TV Land series Younger.
