Alyson Stoner the child dancer who starred in Missy Elliot's "Work It" video in 2002 has released a current-day version of the clip as a tribute to the rapper.
The 21-year-old actress and dancer shared on YouTube Thursday a clip of herself recreating the dance moves she performed in Elliot's videos -- she appeared in the rapper's clips for "Work It", "Gossip Folks" and "I'm Really Hot."
"I dedicate this video to Missy Elliot herself," Stoner says at the end of the clip. "Missy thank you so much for the opportunity to dance for you and now carve a part of my own."
The tribute follows Elliott's return to the spotlight as she prepares to release her seventh album. Her first since 2005's The Cookbook. After reappearing with a much thinner frame in October, Elliot has gone on to perform at the Super Bowl along with Katy Perry and recently shared a photo from the studio with producer Timbaland.
In addition to her role in Elliott's videos, Stoner is best known for her work in television and film, which includes roles in the Disney Channel's The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and Camp Rock and feature films like Cheaper by the Dozen and Step Up.
