Imports of Japan's crude oil from the United Arab Emirates last January were 27.05 million barrels, accounting for 25 percent of total imports, according to data of the Energy and Natural Resources Agency of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Economy in Japan.
The agency announced that the proportion of Middle East oil imports amounted to 80.3 percent of total imports in January, adding that within this amount Arab oil percentage stood at 75.3 percent. The three-quarters of Japan's oil needs came from the Gulf Cooperation Council states and Iraq.
