The National Bank of Abu Dhabi, or NBAD, won the Best Payments Infrastructure Project in the Asian Banker Award 2012 for the its transformational payment engine rolled out in 2012. In naming NBAD’s project the Best Payments Structure for Mid-Tier Banks Award 2012, Asian Banker Summit said: “NBAD has gained significant competitive advantage in the region as a result of it”. The project automated nearly all of NBAD’s inward and outward payments processing, which significantly improved customer service quality because it expedited transactions and reduced dramatically reduced chances of error. It was implemented in the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Jordan. TCA Abu Dhabi to showcase dates at Imex The Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, or TCA Abu Dhabi, will be participating at this year’s Imex exhibition in Frankfurt from May 22-24, with a focus on one important aspect of Emirati culture — the date. “We want visitors to experience the date, which is integral to Emirati culture, and which is now the base of an increasingly diverse range of products, many of which are now bought as souvenirs,” TCA Abu Dhabi international promotions manager Mubarak Al Nuaimi said.
