Doha Bank Wednesday announced the launch of its banking services in India at an opening ceremony held in Mumbai, the country's financial capital.
Top officials from Qatar's banking and finance sector, Doha Bank senior management team led by Chief Executive Officer Dr. R Seetharaman, and local executives from Mumbai attended the event that opens doors to the first bank from Qatar to start its operations in India.
India's central bank, the Reserve Bank of India has granted Doha Bank a license to start banking services in India and open a branch in Mumbai.
The license allows Doha Bank to do operations in Mumbai as a branch of a foreign bank. It will provide banking and financial services to individual retail clients, companies, corporations and institutional entities.
Set up here in 1978, Doha Bank financial services by deploying consumer-centric technology and innovative delivery channels. It has foreign branches in Kuwait, Dubai (UAE), Abu Dhabi (UAE) as well as Representative Offices in Japan, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Australia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany and Sharjah (UAE).
