The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced on Tuesday an increase in the annual inflation, saying it rose from 8.41 percent in March to 9.51 in April.
A statement issued by the bank said the inflation recorded a monthly rate estimated at 1.24 percent in April 2016 against 1.62 in March.
The inflation index did not include some commodities whose prices are set administratively as well as the prices of fruit and vegetables whose prices fluctuate and represent 8.8 percent of the total commodities in Egypt.
