The leading French bank, BNP Paribas, said Thursday it would sell a 28.7 percent stake in its Klepierre unit to Simon Property Group for 1.524 billion euros ($2.0 billion). BNP said it would retain a holding of 22.2 percent in the real-estate investment company in order to \"remain a significant shareholder.\"
