I prefer to not play games in 3D. Aside from the stress it puts on my eyes, there\'s something about the stereo effect where it never becomes completely seamless. It never melts into the background and, for me at least, is constantly drawing my attention away from the actual game. However, I understand that there are those who appreciate 3D much more than I do, and if I were going to invest in a 3D monitor, the following five are the ones I\'d choose from. Just to be clear, these are the best monitors for 3D gaming, not the best overall monitors that happen to have a 3D component. Though it uses the original 3D Vision Kit tech, the Acer GD235HZ is still one of the more impressive 3D monitors thanks to its high-gloss, high-luminance screen. The SyncMaster S23A750D is the only monitor on the list that uses Samsung\'s proprietary active 3D technology, which requires a high-end ATI card. Unfortunately, in terms of actual games support it can\'t really compare to Nvidia-compatible 3D monitors. The LG W2363D is the best of the first-generation 3D Vision Kit-compatible monitors. Also, if you\'re into light bars that pulsate in sync with game sounds (and who isn\'t?), look no further. The only passive 3D monitor on the list is also one of the best at displaying convincing 3D, and thankfully the HP 2311gt doesn\'t require a specific brand of video card. Having such an affordably low price doesn\'t hurt either. The Asus VG278H is the best monitor at delivering 3D images of video games that I\'ve come in contact with. What else needs to be said? Well, I guess a few more things. It uses the Nvidia 3D Vision Kit 2 with LightBoost and produces multiple levels of 3D depth without looking overly dark, as many 3D implementations tend to. For now, the VG278H is the best there is at what it does.
