Agadir - Mohamed Al Fakir
Three people have been arrested in Morocco after being charged with digital piracy. The arrests were made by police after the General Prosecutor’s office decided to investigate a complaint received by a travel agency named al-Laâyoune. The travel firm saw increased numbers of fraudulent bookings on its system along with complaints from its customer that their tickets were being cancelled. The investigation carried out by the Digital Crime Department of the police helped law enforcement agencies in tracking and arresting the three men. The police found sensitive hacking devices during their raid. Initial investigations revealed that the three individuals were involved in the hacking of more than 1650 airline tickets, and complicit in stealing bank and travel agency accounts information.
