The Kingdom of Bahrain has expressed its unwavering support for international security and stability and reiterated its firm stance and call upon the International Community to make the Middle East region a nuclear-free zone and free it from weapons of mass destruction, in accordance with the 1995 Resolution on the Middle East and the communiqué of the 2010 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) This came as Undersecretary at the Foreign Affairs Ministry and Head of the National Committee for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons Ambassador Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla headed the kingdom\'s delegation to the Seventeenth Session of the Conference of the States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention (CSP-17), currently held here. In his statement to the conference, the Undersecretary also highlighted the achievements of the National Committee for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons ever since it was incepted by Edict No. 5 for 2011, issued by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
