Yingluck Shinwatra, sister of the Thailand''s former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra was elected by the House of Representatives to be Thailand''s 28th Prime Minister. Almost 60 percent or 296 of all 500 lawmakers voted in favor of Yingluck to be the first female prime minister of the country. The 44-year-old faces the immediate challenge of bringing stability to the kingdom after five years of political turmoil. Her brother was thrown out of office in a 2006 military coup.
