The American University of Sharjah has been given approval for major expansion, including an eco-friendly dormitory for 170 women, a 1,000-space multi-storey car park and a sports arena and Olympic-standard running track. The project was approved yesterday by the Ruler of Sharjah, Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed, president of the university, who will fund the project.
