The 31st Convention o fthe National Union of Kuwait Students (NUKS) concluded here late on Saturday.
Kuwait's ambassador to the United States Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah announced the conclusion of the conference that was held under the patronage of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
The Kuwaiti ambassador congratulated the students for the wonderful success of this conference, recalling the first assembly which he attended in Chicago in 2002, which was attended by 260 students compared with this year's gathering in which some 3,000 students from throughout the United States had taken part.
He praised the two lists which competed for membership of the union, extolling the spirit and fair competition that prevailed throughout the elections, describing the competition as "transparent".
Al-Wihda List won the National Union of Kuwaiti Students - USA Branch 2014-15 elections, with around 57 percent of votes, during the union's annual conference on Saturday.
Al-Wihda List took 1,244 votes out of a total 2,183.
Earlier on Friday, NUKS-USA's administrative board approved its financial and management report, which it said displayed transparency.
During the process students were given the opportunity to make enquiries on the matter, and exchange viewpoints on the funding of cultural activities along with choosing the delegates, who would be tasked with these affairs.
