Edu-Canada Middle East and North Africa (MENA)

The twelfth annual Edu-Canada Middle East and North Africa (MENA) tour took place in Kuwait on 29 and 30 October. Hosted by the Embassy of Canada in Kuwait, the tour included school visits and a ‘Study in Canada’ fair, which was held at the Symphony Style Hotel in Salmiya on the evening of 29 October.

The tour, which included 10 leading Canadian educational institutions and colleges, allowed students, parents and other member of the education community to interact with representatives of these institutions and acquire information about educational opportunities in Canada.

In a press release the Embassy of Canada noted that quality education is available throughout Canada, and that each of the 10 provinces of the country had something exciting to offer. Canadian higher education offered superior academic curricula, cutting-edge research, state-of-the-art campuses, and professional and personal experience to last a lifetime.

The embassy added that Canada is also home to a safe, multicultural, vibrant society and a dynamic 21st century economy. With almost all of the world’s ethnic groups represented in Canada, students interact with many different cultures; this broader, more international perspective is also a valuable attribute that is attractive to employers worldwide.

The enthusiasm shown by international students for post-secondary studies in Canada is testimony to the superior quality of the country’s education system. Many students recognize that Canada not only offers them the opportunity to earn academic qualifications that are recognized and respected around the world, but also allows them to become part of a tolerant and vibrant multicultural community.
