Senior Chinese leader He Guoqiang has called for deepening of anti-corruption efforts in the country\'s colleges and universities. Efforts should be made to intensify efforts in those areas that particularly susceptible to corruption, such as student admissions, infrastructure construction, material purchase, financial management, research funding and academic honesty, He said. College should always be an undisturbed sanctuary for education, and corruption and violations of law and disciplines will hinder the colleges\' development, incur moral pollution and impact the healthy growth of young students, He said. He called for more anti-corruption education for both the faculties and students in the colleges, adding that every case of corruption should be seriously investigated. He also urged higher-education institutions to strengthen their system for decision-making and management procedures in order to fundamentally prevent corruption. Moreover, he asked universities to improve the education quality as well as the faculty personnel, student management, logistics management and campus safety.
